SP500 stalled in mudhole
I was a little stuck in a mudhole today (been through deeper with no problems before), the water was still under the seat...but she died on me. Winched out and couldn't see any mud or water in the airbox...I'm thinking an electrical short....I haven't put any dielectric grease on yet.
Doesn't appear to have any water in the oil, checking the resevoir should be good enough right?
Any thoughts guys?
It almost started right up after I got it out of the water, and ran fine after this whole incident...I guess it's not "unstoppable" afterall.

Check the color of the oil on the dipstick and if it a grey color then I would be changing the oil.
It is a good idea to pull the spark plug/s and crank the engine over a few times to see if any water did happen to get into the cylinder.
I would be a good thing to change the differential lubes too.

I just had this happen last weekend, I was riding down the creek, and there was tree blocking me, so I had to go back the way I came, and for some reason, I just got to a certain point, and just sat there, so I stayed on my bike and kept it revved up while my hooked up the winch, mine didn't stall, but it sure was gurgling lol. Also, I was thankful my gorilla winch didn't crap out on me again

Put dielectric grease on every connection you can see and tack the front rack off and nose lid and do those as well.
Check your pull rope for wetness and dirt, when water gets by the handle which it does easily, there is a pulse coil, flywheel and stator and other things in there that should be dry and clean at all times.
I silicon my pull handle into place, not water gets in that way.
