We have 2500s on our quads and are happy with them. I've pulled a handful of guys out of the mud, a couple trees off the trail, and some bridge parts into place. The snatchblock is a great idea too. It helps to be able to tie off with a tree strap and pull trail obstructions off the trail while keeping the quad on the trail. You can get them cheap on eBay. I wouldn't go anywhere without a winch, ****** block, tree strap, and tow strap.

The difference is that they are made in china to Warn specs, and not trying to copy another brand with cheaper parts that and the fact Warn stands behind there products.

I found a 2500 pound Polaris winch on Craigslist. The guy took it off his prior to the reposession. Price $140. no remote control, no contactor. From a little research I found Warn had a contactor recall for some model winches, NO questions asked. I called them up gave them my 2004 sportsman vin number and they sent me a new contactor for free. Murpheys law, I snapped off the lug nut when installing it and called them up and told them and they sent me another!
Polaris Winches are mostly made by Warn.
I have read many satisfied customers who bought the Gorrilla winches off of EBAY, they are alot cheaper. The above winch I put on our 2006, 500 sportsman and when I get around to putting one on the 2004, 700cc sportsman, I may just go that route. I am not a big winch user, just like them as an insurance policy for emergencies.
