You know, I have to agree....I trust NONE,not ONE, of them completely. Some times they are swayed by what they think will be the popular opinion, other times they don't have the technical expertise to offer sound opinions...in EVERY case the individual must make the ultimate choice him(her)self after doing the homework. I wish there were magazines that did testing on all kinds of things like Gun Tests do on firearms. THEY HAVE NO ADVERTISING in them, so the results of their trials aren't skewed by how much advertising a company buys. They go out and buy several guns to compair, have a panel of experts try all of them and report what they like and don't. Too bad it would be kind og cost prohibitive to do tests like that on wheelers, trucks, boats, etc.

Having both heres what I think.
What I don't like about the 850XP is, the easy bake oven (aka rear storage compartment), the ball joints are a **** poor design, the single brake lever, the lack of a wet clutch, the way it clunks when shifting from forward to reverse, only one rear brake on the 2010s, the poor fuel mileage, the small fuel tank on the ESP model, the way the 4X4 system gives the rider no option other then on or off, can not angle the brake lever down because the master cylinder hits the handlebar, the way I hit my knee on the shift lever, the way the rear brake lines are looking for something to snag on.
What I don't like about the 700 Grizzly is, 7.1" of travel on the front, poor fuel tank vent, power steering after riding the 850XP with ESP, the head lights are weak.

Nobody said Jacobs was right all the time. Simply that his reviews seem to be unbiased. That doesn't mean that everybody is going to agree with him, but at least he doesn't seem to be swayed by "underlying" factors... at least one would hope not.

Well we all have OUR opinions but there has to something said for bike that ever since its introduction in 07 keeps winning awards year after year in just about EVERY ATV mag published. And whether you like the ATV magazines or not for a person buying a new bike that has never looked at at a ATV before is going to read these magazines and they are going to come away very happy with the money they just spent on a new bike! This is the whole reason Consumer Reports is in business and is as big as it is and this is and the magazine I trust least when it comes to buying something big! We all read what we want but I agree with this particular test as most of what was tested is REAL world scenarios and not the latest bike craze and what magazine thinks people wanna hear!

The Grizz has won more awards than any other 4x4 in history!
