Default Polaris Back fire

93' polaris trailblazer- was running great but now it backfires LOUD, especially backing off the throttle. Will alaways start on the first pull but when I give it the gas it dies outthen tends to clear up for a while. The tank is venting properly. Any ideas? Thanks Tim

Any cracks in the carb boot? Exhaust leak maybe?

sounds like a lean condtion. check the spark plug to see if it's white. also might be water, but most likely wouldn't run good at all. does it idle high? wondering if maybe it has an air leak? a couple of things to check out and it wouldn't hurt to clean carb if you think it's dirty or replace gas if bad. imo
