93 Sportsmand 4x4 problems

Default 93 Sportsmand 4x4 problems

Ok I tested the voltage going into my 4x4 switch and getting voltage but when I engage the switch I lose voltage to switch and light does not come on this is when it is in drive, but when in reverse and engage switch and push overide button the 4x4 light comes on and 4 wheel drive works. Can anyone help me please

Try unplugging the blk wire out of the reverse limiter

sounds like maybe the trans. switch is messing up?

Maybe its your AWD switch,the old push button type were very troublesome thats why Polaris went to a sliding AWD switch in 98 or 99 I think.

The older machines had the switch in the shifter and it can cause this problem too.
I recommend the rev limiter thing first because it soesnt cost anything and is easy to check.
Try wiggling the shifter and see if the AWD light comes on too.

Yiou can find a terminal on the circuit board thats hot with the key on and hook the red-grey wires to the hubs to it, the awd button will still control the awd but you will by-pass the shifter switch, Ive done this to several of the older ones and they are still working.
