Now that's not very nice Quaddaddy. Be careful I'll tell your mommy and she will have to spank you. You poor soul, you just don't get it do you?
You have no clue even how to spell p-e-r-f-o-r-m-a-n-c-e. You are a very pathetic lot.
Oh yeah, one last thing "Quaddaddy", please don't take my name in vain and get me really pissed off. I might just have to give you an exhaust porting to straighten you out, sonny.

Polaris has the motor now, the 400 Liquid cooled 2 stroke has been tweeked by the after market for a while now with some numbers near 65 horse (usable by the average ride with pump gas). They just need to come up with a no frills light weight chassy to put a warmed up version of the motor in and Polaris would have a new reputation the next morning.

Oh no, now I remeber, I ticked you off once before. You left me four e-mails with every naughty word known to man in them. It was very mature and professional. Talk about pathetic.
For the last two years, you've been coming to this forum giving everyone advice on the pros and cons of all the available mods for Polaris'. You gave the impression that you like the machine. Now, you come in here and bash them every chance you get. For someone that devotes so much cash, and a good portion of his website to Polaris, it kind of leaves all of us wondering what happened. Could you fill us in?
My mailbox awaits your profanity.

On the farm when we can't find exactly what we are looking for we either buy and settle for less ,or build what we need. Why don't you guys that crave a machine that the big guys don't come close to offering make a project out of it and build your own.I am amazed at the amount of knowledge in these forums and bet there could be some bad *** quads coming out of here.
Now that I have this Cr 500 mill in this 400 EX frame HOW am I going to...........????????
I know I am missing the boat, that being that a machine like this should be offered by the big guys but it was just a thought...

Well maybe this thing is right under our noses.
Yamaha does build really good motors, and the Raptor does have reverse, and revs to 9,000 rpm.
It's just too scrawny, but the aftermarket has already come out with +2" width, +1"wheelbase A-arms and +2" and +3"(each side) rear axles. So if the Raptor was 48" wide front and rear, instead of that scrawny 43" wide, it could work quite well. Along with some taller rear tires and skid plates so I can get it over the rocks out here in Nuevo Mexico. It weighs only 398 lbs and has reverse. I guess I could live without IRS, or build it, or just ride. I am thinking seriously about this. I would keep the H.O. a great machine for what it is. I just wish they hadn't gotten me all excited with that H.O. nonsense. 'Cause it isn't H.O. at all. New and improved, yes. And if we're talkin' real hot rodding, the scramblers are too much of a compromise, which has its place, but not in this fantasy.

Yeah 3TV
I am like you if I was goin to buy and atv tomarrow it would be a DS650 I like everything about those Quads they are built strong right from the factory as the races it has won will prove. And I love those rotax engines those puppys can rev with some work they can be made to get alot more horsepower too Bombardier did detune those engines but they left the door open on them.
I also heard that the suspension is killer on them too they did win the best jumper out the new sport bikes. I really do not care for the Raptor it was a good idea but they fell short of the mark they are no where near as tough as the DS650 but theyt could of been so much better.
Have a good one

My idea of performance is exactly what I have right now, but 100 lbs. lighter. I wouldn't mind seeing a double A-arm front suspension as long as it's a plush as the Works McStruts I have now. The problem is that it'll never happen.

For the purposes of this topic I define "performance" as an MX optimized quad which weighs less than 400lbs. wet, jumps great, handles great and is blistering fast. I realize this is pretty broad but I think that leaves enough room for our imaginations.
Polaris can do it. They have covered every other niche in the ATV world. Hell, if they can manufacture a diesel quad (I wonder how many of these dogs they sell a year)and also their large snowmobile racing presence, they can make a hi-per bike that will run with the pack.
If Polaris chooses not to make a hi-per bike, then those who want one will simply buy one from their competitors and this will cost Polaris marketshare (which bean counters just hate and which has happened up to now). True, we are not talking large numbers lost as there are so many more utility ATV's sold, but I consider Hi-per bikes to have a prestige factor that many times will offset the numbers actually sold. Examples of this are the word-of-mouth networks such as this forum, ATV racing (I have never even SEEN a Polaris in any kind of racing EVER). Just something to chew on.
I have heard lots of talk in here about the (unconfirmed) upcoming Sportsman 700 & Scrambler 700. I think this is a step in the wrong direction for the Scrambler. It makes perfect sense for the utility SP but the Scrambler needs to lose a ton of weight in its current configuration. I suspect this would NOT happen if a motor that large is installed in a Scrambler chassis. I wouldn't complain having a 700 Scram 4x4 but not a Hi-per bike.
Truth be known, I don't want a hi-per bike. I like mine. I just want Polaris to have some bragging rights in the hi-per segment of the ATV community. This would truly complete their market lineup and place Polaris above all their competitors IMHO.
Polaris, build it and they will come.......
