Default 91 350L What to look for

Now I'm looking into possibly trading my sled for a 91 350L 4x4. What are some things to look for on these machines? Are they fairly reliable or are they just money pits?

The owner said the front chain broke the other night when he was plowing and he replaced it, but is that something to be concerned about?

Thanks for the info!

Where do I check that counter balance oil? Is there a dip stick on the side of the case?

What's going to be the compression number I'll be looking for on this thing?
