Can I use a bigger battery?

Can I use a bigger battery?
I have a 2001 sportsman 500 H.O.
I use it to plow with a winch, hand warmers, and lights.
the problem that I have is the Battery goes dead after 45 min of hard plowing.
Battery is now totally dead.
I use a battery tender, all of the time when parked.
I have been doing a lot of research on different battery's, and I think the best battery for me is a Odyssey.
But the problem is they do not make one for my machine.
Can I modify my battery box to fit a Odyssey battery for a 750 sportsman (part # 925L), will this be to much battery for my wheeler.
Will I start to melt wires, can I mount a car battery to back of rack and piggy back stock battery?
Not really sure what I need to do.
Or is there a different battery out there that would work for me.(stock size)
Not really interested in a WALLYWORLD battery I tried one of those in a different machine. ( you get what you pay for).
Thanks for the help
Frank

No problem adding a larger battery. The only thing you need to do is to keep the same voltage. You will not burn wires with a larger battery, you can use a car one if you want to hook it up in back. You can even use two batteries as long as you hook them up parallel (like you hook up jumper cables).
Having said that, are you sure your charging system is up to par? Your problem is really not the battery as much as it is the fact that your charging system cannot replace the juice as fast as you are using it up with all your accessories.

a big issue w/ these bikes is the charging system is designed to put out alot of wattage to recharge batteries that are drawing alot of juice. your plowing alot and your using hand warms which draw way more power then the bike can put out and keep up with. the winch works strickley off the battery. so plowing will drain it fast. your bike should have about 13.8 volts when reved up or more if charging correctly. imo
