hi guys, i have a 97 xpress 300 that likes to foul plugs. everything is stock besides the .040 wiseco piston and crank seals last year. it seems to smoke excessivly though. how or what is the correct procedure to adjust the oil pump. this unit runs great in the summer but seems to run worse the colder it gets outside. anyone recommend a block off and mix the gas/oil. any help is appreciated. thanks...

Most people automatically think its the oil pump when plug fouling starts, check the carb needle and seat, replace if needle worn or you can see ridges/worn places in seat area. They can smoke a lot and foul plugs from too much fuel. If compression is good and seals good as you say, then trying to adjust oil pump is not necessary as it is set from the factory at 50-1 ratio. PS over time carbon can also build up in pipe, remove clean out plug, tap on muffler and run awhile or can even have vatted out,may help a little,BUT 2strokes are going to smoke! OPT
