Centrigugal Clutch Problems 2005 Scrambler 500
#1
I have a 2005 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4. Its seems to be that the centrifugal clutch is slipping once the quad warms up. I can smell burnt rubber from the belt (i think it's the belt). Does anyone know whats going on? Is it an adjustment or is my clutch no good or is the belt no good? When the quad first starts, it doesn't slip and has power rite away. But when it worms up, I have to almost give it half throttle just to move the quad. Anything i can look at or do to the bike to see if the clutch may be no good or if the belt is the wrong belt or anything? Please HELP!

check the belt first.minimum width is1.125" Check the front clutch for operation, inspect spring to make sure it's still in one piece, look at weights to make sure they are free, you could try some compressed air or brake parts cleaner and blow the dirt out of it.

i'm pretty sure it's the back clutch..the front one moves and opens and closes fine...but the back one once the quad has been ridden for 15 minutes starts to jam and it doesn't open and close properly.
