Default sportsman 700 dead...no power?

Hello, went out riding this week. while going down the trail the machine bogged down and quit running. There is no power at all. I submerged it in a pond back in november. I changed all fluids and put new plugs and she was running great. Do you think its the ECM? I tested the battery and solinoid and there is power to both. Any help will be appreciated. Thank You, Dan

could be a corroded wire plug in some where. if you have to fire at all then you check connections and put dieletric grease on then once they have been cleaned to prevent it from happpening.

He said it has a carb. Wouldn't that mean there is no ECM?

Kill switch on handlebars - have you checked it? Maybe remove and disassemble it? See if you have power going to it. If so, then see if you have power coming from it.

Not getting any power, start with the battery and move forward. Mine did that and it ended up being the battery wires were not tight, not loose, just not tight. I cranked them down snug and problem never came back. I would take your cables off, make sure there is no dirt or corrosion from you dip in water and snug them back on tight. If you have power from there go to the next connection.

Follow your wires, and try your best to pinpoint where you are loosing power at. I would check all connections first, then check your kill switch on the handlebars.
