Default Full service on a 850XP

Since I didn't buy my 850 in Colorado I may take it to a dealer for fluid change this spring more for good will from them than anything since I might need good will later as being a past customer. I don't want to ask then not take it in, how much is lube and fluid costing you. I am not interested in paying several $100 since I have always done the 500s myself.

Dealers do nothing cheap, I know a person who payed $80 labor to get a belt changed from a dealer. LOL

My guess $200 to change all the fluids.

Have two people call to make sure the price qoute remains the same. Sometimes the quote can vary as to who calls. I would guess $100 - $150.

Oil Change - $50
Front Diff - $25
Transmission - $25

My guess.

Shop rate in your area is well over a buck do your own oil changes buy your oil and filter from them this way you have records. If there was a warranty problem the burden of proof is on them.Buy a service manual, bike lift, get info to service bulletins, learn how to change belt it has worked for me.

I have a service manual for the 850 I printed off the net from a link posted here maybe by you. Also a lift since I do all the service on our 2 500s. I think I will just do it myself, looks like thats what most members do.
Thanks for the replies.

I was thinking the same thing...plus I need a recall taken care of, so thought I might have the dealer do an oil change when it is in.

Here's the price break down...as I was told over the phone:

1. $40.00 - Polaris Oil Kit
2. $75.00 - dealer hr rate (estimate .5hrs labor)

Dang that is expensive! I thought it might be similar to my truck...and if I take it in...I would only pay $30.00 total. They have some racket going for sure.

OBTW: Dealer will do recall...I'll do the fluid changes.

I was thinking about a complete fluid change so I could probably double the price of just the oil change.
"Gaspumpcity" suggested a bike lift, I have 1 but I see Harbor Freight has the same lift I have used for years on sale in the adds I got yesterday if anyone is looking for 1. Bought mine at Sam's Club for $10 more 5 or 6 years ago.
