polaris whinches are made overseas unless it says polaris made by warn right on it. WARN, except no others.

It can't be too hard to do, even I installed mine and I assume that I did it correctly because it's worked for the last 3 years....

I bought mine from a guy off ebay brand new still in the box it was the polaris winch but made by warn for polaris says warn right on it, came with detailed instructions and I mounted it on my 08 sportsman 800 it was simple. The wiring and everything else was factory installed on the quad side so it made things easy. Mount-plug-play!!!!

I installed mine on an 07 800 X2 a couple years ago...but i went with a Viper winch...didnt want to spend the $$ on a Warn and i had one on my 500 and wasnt all that impressed. The Viper has done everything i have wanted it to. I did have an issue with it...winching a big log up out of a ravine and it locked up. Wasnt under warranty. Called motoalliance and they told me id have to cover shipping but they would fix it. I think thats a good deal. Was i over working the winch? Definately...long continuous pull with a huge tree trunk up hill. I should have stopped half way and let it cool a bit. Would Warn have broke? I dont know...but MotoAlliance stood behind their product and this says something as a company. My next winch will be another Viper. For the price you cant beat them.

On to the install...i think mine is pre-wired...but i didnt know that. i mounted the contactor and ran the wires. I just zip tied my contactor to the frame. Its not to difficult. If you have specific questions let me know.
