The OEM chain is a 520 o-ring. The 84p stands for a an 84 link chain. You might check your front sprocket for wear also as its a lot softer metal and doesnt last as long as the rear. Along with worn teeth,if you can rock the sprocket back and forth on the trans shaft ,the splines on the sprocket are showing wear. OPT

There will probably be a master link, that just snaps on and hooks them together, without a press. Installation is pretty straight foward. Also get an O-ring chain, they cost more, but they'll last much longer. Also are you going to just get an after market (DID, RK, etc.) or are you going to get an OEM one

I would avoid those, and go with something like these:
DID 520 ATV X-Ring Chain, 92 Link : eBay Motors (item 290408924754 end time Mar-09-10 05:21:01 PST)

DID D.I.D 520 O-RING ORING Chain: 82 Links : eBay Motors (item 230437571811 end time Mar-16-10 09:48:50 PDT)

With a $25 chain, you be needing a new one pretty quick

I don't know if that's neccessarily true...my chain came from a farm supply store. It has lasted more miles than my OEM...not as many years, but more miles. I think I paid about $10-$15 for the chain and master link. Don't get me wrong...I would have bought a OEM chain but without a dealer nearby and needing my atv that day, which was a Sun., I had to make due. That chain is still going strong, sprockets are fine, no issues...

To be honest, when/if I need a new one I'll probably go back to the farm store and buy another. The only difference I have noticed is the chain is a little louder than the Oring chain.
