I hit mine once and I thought I blew up the machine.

I was cruising wide open on black top, dash flashed I think HI or something, and then blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the machine lost all power, went from going 55 or so to a complete stop with machine dead. I just KNEW I blew it up. It sounded that bad.
I sighed, pulled out my phone, and sat there for a minute reflecting and swearing.
Thought to myself....well lets see what happens if I try and start it.

Hit the key and it fired up! I was thrilled but am now scared of the rev limiter. The only think I can think that happened is that hit hit the RPM limit, and the CDI stuck in the limiting mode. Scared the crap out of me. I don't go wide open any more.
