I have run my sled over 50 yards of open shallow water,a few time. Put some weight back and pin it, you actually feel like your going to fast and WOT is not needed. You should have a 100hp sled at least, but I seem guys with 80 hp 500s do it also.

 

I remember someone saying they break the bead using their trailer tongue jack. They hooked up their trailer to their truck then put the tire under the tongue jack. Then screwed the jack foot down and broke the bead. This method is almost "hold my beer" proof.

I had to say somthing! Yes I come from a small town in MN. I remember my uncle changing tractor tires. Lol his tools where, big a** sledgehammer to break bead =) and gas and a match to set the bead. Wow to think of it now as an adult just wow lol! Good stuff!!!

 

LOL, I used the starting fluid and match technique to mount my new tires last year. I also used my truck and a 2x6 to break the old beads.

As far as the slime I refuse to use it. It leaves a heck of a mess inside the tire for the next person, which in my case would be myself.

 

I just bought my quad less than two weeks ago and just took the front tire in yesterday because it wouldn't hold air. They said it wasn't seated properly. Unfortunate it's so common.
