Who's clutch kit works?
#12
Hot Seat Performance and Aaen also make clutch kits and over the past 11 years I've used kits from both of them on a Sportsman 400 (Hot Seat clutch kit) and a Sport 400 (Aaen clutch kit). Both of the kits worked as advertised and helped the performance of both quads.
I've also used clutch kits from High Performance Design's (HPD), but never really could get used to (or liked) the high stall that their kits have.Other than that they put together a decent kit in my opinion.
To be honest with you you are better off just buying primary springs and secondary springs and experimenting yourself. You can also try different weights and helix's, but I usually just focus on the springs. At between $20-$30 a spring it really isn't that expensive to buy a few different springs and experiment with them.
I've had good luck with calling up Aaen and Hot Seat both and telling them the mods that I have along with the type of riding that I do and having them suggest different springs for me to use.Rick Ritter is also a good guy to deal with. His customer service is second to none.

I have thousands of dollars in clutch parts sitting here now, bad thing is they are for skidoo snowmobiles! I have been clutching my own sleds for the last 15 years but they have all been skidoo. So I understand the clutching part, not looking to get that serious into clutching this bike. Thanks for all the replies! Here is a vid of my trail sled in 2000 measured feet!

I'm interested to know what spring would give me a little more low end grunt. I've never had her over 50 mph so top end isn't a concern. If I could get away with just a new spring as opposed to a $220+ kit it could pass approval from higher powers.

If the budget is a little snug - call me and get a Dalton Black /White primary - and a Dalton Black secondary. These are 2 parts of the kit I was telling you about . If you need more - call and get weights at a later time .
THANK YOU for the opportunity to do busness with you !

Hey Rick, thanks for the response, just trying to gather as much info as possible, budget is no concern just trying to find something I would like, looking for info from people who have them, what the kit did and how they like it before I purchase! Again thanks for your time.
