Also watch your lug size. A 8' Mudlite XL with its larger 1-1/8th lugs will be almost as wide a 9 " Mud lite ATs with there smaller 3/4" lugs.

I had my dealership look at the tie rod swap but they said when they tried it the steering was binding. I've been all over the place through rocks, hills, sand, mud, water, etc. and the way I did it seems to be holding up well.

Maverick you have a point,
my stock polaris(carlisle) fronts say 8" ,
but measure about 7.5

The tie rod method is too much of a change for me and besides
the way it looks on my 2005 , it wont make a difference.

I think my best option is spacers with oversized lugs.
( if I put 3/8 spacer on my current setup, I am not confident the lugs will not have enough threads )

BTW
Hey Moose,
Did you find those extra lugs ?

Sorry, oilcan, I can't find them. I looked everywhere. The nearest I can guess is that I left the bag up at the dealership on the counter or something like that. If that's the case they are probably long gone in the spare parts bin. They sell them on eBay too but it's the same price and shipping. I have a full lugnuts worth of threads catching with the 3/8" longer studs.

Well after looking in to spacers and oversized lugs, I decided to spend a little extra moolah for the oem size tires. The cost was just a little bit more than modification parts, but it saved me from the hassle and torment and time involved to put it all together.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Last year I scored a pair of ITP Blackwaters for the rear ($40 each)
And they have been sitting in my garage. I was going to buy a pair of
Sedona's for the front, but they were the 9" wide ones, so I went with Duro's because they came in a 26x8x12. $80 each.
