Has anyone heard about the front strut mount crack & brake..... its the strut tower mount part of the frame on a 800 sportsman... I owned it since it was new it has 73 hrs and 210 miles! never been abused nor off road!

 

i've had 2 800's and never broke. must be a flaw maybe in the part?

 

The left upper strut mount broke partially free from the frame on my '03 500 SP when it was about 1 year old. On closer inspection, I found there was very little weld holding it to the frame as compared to the right side. I pulled off the front plastic, cleaned up the mount bracket and frame to bare metal, and mig-welded it back together. There has been no more issues in the last 6 1/2 years.
