greetings to all members and thanks for the help i am about to get.I heard from aguy that there were keyway problems could it be jammed .I can turn it over about a quarter of the way.HELP!

 

welcome to the forum. haven't herd that on here about the key way.hopefully it's simple, but most of the time it's you never get that lucky. good luck.

 

What was going on previous to the engine locking up? This will sometimes point you in the right direction for troubleshooting.

If you can only turn it a quarter turn I would be first looking at the stator side to see if something let loose on the stator and is jamming it up. Do the same on the clutch side.

If thats not it, you are looking at something internal, again the history of what was going on before it locked up would be helpful. Was it overheating, any noises, knocking, high engine RPM's??
