I AM GOING TO GET AN EXPLORER WHEN UNCLE SAM PAYS
UP FROM MY TAXES AND NEED TO KNOW ONE THING ABOUT IT IF YOUR RIDING AND YOUR CHAIN COMES OFF CAN YOU
FLIP THE 4x4 SWITCH AND THE FRONT WHEELS GET YOU HOME OR WILL THAT NOT WORK.

Yeah, it works, had to do it too. Unless the mid chain falls off too you should be ok.

2001 MODEL DON'T HAVE TO WORRY WITH THE MIDDLE
CHAIN ANYMORE IT SHAFT DRIVE UP FRONT.

only one chain on the Xplorer 250 just to the rear the rest is shaft drive. You shoudl notr have any trouble with the chain though I owned one for 8 months road double all the time mudded as much as possible and not a problem with the chain it is an awesome machine. that 250 stroke is a great motor.

I too have heard that will work,as others have said you should not have to worry about it.We bought one almost a year ago,it has been rode hard by everyone,no problems yet.What a GREAT
quad!!!!

Another thing no one else mentioned yet is that the new Xplorers are concentric drive to the rear. It is still chain driven, but the newer concentric drive eliminates about 90% of the chain throwing problems of the past. Just remember to adjust it every now and again. Mine will go between 300 and 600 miles between anjustments depending on riding conditions.
