Default 03 trail boss 330 driven Clutch Question

I need to get my transmission out......it is working fine in reverse, but in forward, there is a NASTY grind. I have removed the retaining bolt....now what....Looks like it is threaded on??? The Shop manual is no help....just says.......... "Remove driven clutch retaining bolt and driven clutch. Use the Driven Clutch Puller (PN2870913) if necessary."

After the Retaining bolt is removed....what is the best way using common shop tools to get the driven clutch off???

the driven clutch should just slide off. maybe it's rusted on. try spraying some penetrating oil to help.

I tring to remove the unit that is attached to the Engine it self toward the front of the bike.....the wheel that attaches to the Crank Casr at the rear came off easily. there are " Clutch pullers" out there....but those are like 35 bucks.....was hoping there was a simple cheap way to get it off.......if the threads on the retaining bolt are the same as the puller....why not just use a Really long bolt????

Your talking about primary clutch right. The thread size should be 3/4" fine thread, this is the most common size. I use a peice of stock steel just smaller then 3/4" and a 'ball' to my truck hitch. A long 3/4" fine thread bolt will work.

HAAAAAAAAA...HA HA HA......found a better way, NO TOOLS NEEDED.

wanted to monkey with it before my Clutch puller arrived, pulled it out side, Fired it up......forgot I had the bolt removed...and the Clucth FELL OFF. THANK GOD THE BELT WAS REMOVED.....that would have been interesteing......LOL...PRICELESS

Got into the Tranny last night....all gears look good.....looks like the issuse was the LARGE gear was not meshing up with the gear on the shaft above it....needed to TAP the Shaft, where the sproket is, in a bit....all meshes up fine now. Gonna drop it back in tonight....HOPE ALL IS WELL.......

if you need a cheaper primary clutch puller.

it works i bought one and still works just make sure if it dont pop up, tap it a lil with a rubber mallet and tighten it. it should work... it cost $25 plus free shipping.

I have a hard time, spending 25 hard earned bucks on something I can make for 10.....no offence....

I got my bike put all back together......With a NEW STOCK SPROCKET to boot....SAME ISSUE..reverse GOLDEN...forward GRINDDDDD..I think it is the Chain, in the crank case. when I opened it up last time..the chain has a few kinks, and was stiff and loose......HAS TO BE IT.....if not I am giving UP! I am running out of money...bought the bike for $500, put, $300 in to her, New Stator, Coil, Sproket, and some odds and ends.

Sucks cause the motor PURRS like a kitten now, no other issues other than the dam TRANNY! Jsut getting fustrated.

Gonns tear her down again and measure out the chain with the book.....See if that is it.........

Got her all tore down..AGAIN..It is not the sproket, i check that list night with a shapie to see if it was slipping, it was not....HAS TO BE THE CHAIN.....some links are froze up...others are hard to bend, the chain is just not....FLUID. This is the last straw........putting a new chain in her.....if she works....WHOOO HOOO....if not.....ANYONE NEED PARTS???? Seriously......a complete bike with a GREAT ENGINE....EVERY thing on this bike works...BUT THE TRANNY....lol.
