Default tie rod ends

Was doing a service on the magnum and noticed a very small amount of play on the inner tie rod ends. I'm aware that these are a wear item, so my question is how much play if any is acceptable before replacement. When it's on the ground you can feel it slightly in the handle bars if you were looking for it.

that is one of those things that is up to the owner,as to when to change.
As for me ,if you just noticed them getting loose and you regularly keep an eye on them, you might want to wait ,'cause odds are the rest of them will start getting loose after a month or two. unless you're planning on taking a long trip.

Does anybody know if you can cross the polaris tie rods at your local parts warehouse? Just looking for a cheaper way to replace them rather than about $30 a pair off ebay.
Thanks

When I decide to replace my wifes I'm going to check my local Tractor supply. They can get ends for about all garden tractors and such. I think I should be able to find a pair that will match. It's worth a look anyhow. $10-$12 vs $25 a piece
