In Canada the 2011 400HO MSRP is $6,799, and the 2011 500HO MSRP is $7,499, all plus 13% tax, and financing charges. I was quoted $5,300 for the 400HO, and $6,300 for the 500HO, both 2010 models. Will stop by tomorrow for updated info
I don,t blame you for going for the 400H.O, the only difference between the new 400H.O and 500H.O is 45cc more displacement and the 500 has a larger 40mm carb while the 455 uses a 34mm. Not worth $1000 + 13% HST tax to me either.

Thanks!! So, the power difference will be minimal? Wonder how the mileage will be??
You a fellow Ontarian?? (HST...)

Our 97 500 also does not have the performance High duration H.O cam but the 455 does,so that will help wake things up for the 400H.O.

Yes,I,m from Sault STE Marie Ontario. The Power differance should not be too noticable, I,d guess 3hp differance like our 97 Sportsman 500 (non H.O) which also uses the Mikuni 34mm carb and gets almost 20 miles more on a tank then my 500 H.O.

The most indestructable ones were the 2001-2002 500 HO's though. Tough machines, but did go through some axles and CV's back then.
