Default 06 450 sportsman help

Im having a problem with my 450. When i start the wheeler my gauges flash "check engine", and "HOT". The motor is not hot, and it has coolant. I just replaced the battery and pulled the thermostat with no changes to the condition.
Any suggestions on the next logical step or if anyone has had similar problem? Thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum. i would check w/ a dealer to run your vin# as there was a recall for for bad ecm's on the 450's. i agree it sounds like a bad ecm.

Before they install that new ECM have "Them" remove the cover and make sure it is not full of moisture and corossion,When they replace My ECM it was all corodded up inside and did`nt last a year and I had to foot the bill for a new one. That really sucked.

It they do the job it should have been there fault???
I put one in myself and the dealer did one...........Remember it comes with a small pack of Di-electric Grease This needs to be used and not thrown out with the box!!
This helps the connectors with moisture and thus corrosion. If you do it use it.....................If the dealer does it ask it they used it?

Caper..................

What if they do find corosion inside? I asked the dealer if i could just get the part from him and put it on myself, but he said due to the nature of the recall he had to install it.
