500 Sportsman

Its a 2001. I took the flywheel off, cleaned around stator and pulse coil. None of it was that dirty. Put it all back together and it wont start with the key, it turns over but wont start. So i pulled the pull start 1 time and it started. The battery is 2 months old, so i put it on a trickle charger for 2 hours, unplugged it and turned the key and the atv started right up. It'll start like that for about 2-3 days then i'll need to charge the battery again.
I just fixed my buds machine...same exact issue. My research pointed towards the rectifier. Sure enough 2 wires were unplugged from it. I'd check that first, make sure all wires are plugged in and make good contact...make sure no wires are broken, etc. If you happen to need a rectifier...cheapest place I found is "Ricks motorsports electrics".

It's part #35 under the "electrical/tailight" schematic.
You'll need to pull the front rack and front cover...it's down and to the right under the cover.
