Default 2002 Polaris 500 HO Oil Change

Ok Guys and Gals. I have a 02 Polaris 500 HO that i bought new in 2002. I have only ran Polaris Brand 0w-40 untill they changed the oil to the PS4. I used the PS4 last year and havent had any problems. My question is i want to change to use Mobil 0w-40 and a diffrent oil filter. The Problem is i cant seem to figure out what model oil filter to use? Id like to have model numbers so i can just pick it up at walmart.

If anyone has a book or a way to look up the part numbers would be great.

Its a 2002 Polaris 500 HO Sportsman

Id like filter numbers for fram, mobil one, purolator, super tech.

Thanks for the help!!

Read through this Make a list of common numbers we need

Sp400&500 Oil Filter (STP SMO17) and (FRAM CPH6607)

The new Polaris oil is supposedly 2w-50 I,m sure it would not hurt anything, but I just like 0w weigh for cold flow starts better.

A filter mag is a nice addition gives that extra protection I like to run one on most things I own .

I use the PH6017A on my 01 Magnum 325cc with 0w-40 mobil 1 oil. It has been working excellent so far.

The length only matters for clearance in this case. I just gave you all of the interchangeable filter # for you to decide which one you need. Those I listed are the same filters in different lengths either ones will work beautiful. I like the longer ones on my 500 because it is easier for me to get off. I always run Mobil 1 0w-40 oil with it and change every 18 hours. It is my personal preference but you can find what works for you and stick with it. You will find it handy to see what you like for oil and filters and stick with the same ones it helps all the way around. It is not good to change brands and oil weights every oil change. Good luck ride safe

You should be able to order from that site plus that site lists international dealers if you live outside of the US . Go to products on the site .
