Nothing happens when AWD button is switched?

Took the switch apart and figured out that my bulb may not be lighting up the switch light.

At this point, by all indications my awd is working. My bulb has always worked, but when I took off the "awd" cover on the bulb, it wasn't allowing enough light to show through. It is red and I am color blind, so maybe I just couldn't tell. I replaced that with a clear piece of plastic and I seem to be good everytime I switch it into awd. The problem is, when I switch it the atv doesn't feel like any change has taken place. I plan on jacking it up tonight to see what happens when all wheels are off the ground. I now have my manual now also, so will try to look through that to troubleshoot.

best way to tell is put it in reverse and back up spinning the tires w/ the overrdie pushed in and not in awd and it should spin the tires. then try it w/ the awd pushed in(do not switch the awd while spinning) and you should not be able to spin any more but just have traction in all tires. becareful as it might throw you if your not hanging on. imo

I'm not sure if I'm following you. Are you saying while on the ground to spin the tires... in reverse? The ground it wet outside and I gunned it and my tires didn't seem to spin much if any not matter what buttons I pushed or if AWD was switched on. Is there another way to test?

To test AWD, I put the atv in low range, and nose it up to a wall or strong tree. If AWD works it will dig 4 holes or slip 4wheels on pavement ,if AWD does not work only the 2 rear wheels will break loose.

If you have the old push button awd switch, the #4030047 bulb is hard to find as you mentioned. You might try some local dealers nos and see if they have the along with local auto sores. Even miniature bulb places online may be able to help.Newer slide switch type awd indicators are built into the throttle housing and no bulb replacement. Have to get a another housing.
