polaris transmission oil

I went ahead and put the Royal Purple 75Wx90 synthetic gear lube in the transmission last night since the previous owner had been running that since new. I figured if it ain't broke don't try and fix it.

I have been running Shell Rotella heavy duty 15w40 in my 97 Trail Boss 250 since I bought it two years ago. I don't know what was in there before but it was DIRTY.

Most likely it was that first batch of chain case lube Polaris came out with. It was nasty looking right out of the bottle.
