Exclamation Kenda Exacutioners

Hello,I havent been on in a while because i have a polaris and they never break. But now i have a question. My brother had a 07 arctic cat 700. Thank god he sold it because it was the biggest p o s ever but he had the kenda executioners on it and he was always rebuilding the suspension. He said that the kenda's shook his quad apart. Did any one else have this problem? Does anyone think that will happen to a 05 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO? I am asking this because last winter we got alot of snow and my quad would not go anywhere while his arctic cat would never get stuck and it was the same weight. I have swamp fox at tires and they suck. My quad just always got stuck. Does any one know why this is or how i can fix this. Also does anyone know if the Kenda Executioners will help my quad move in snow and be good just trail riding with mud also?

THANKS, POLARIS MAN WITH ISSUES

(sorry for this post being very long)

The executioners are pretty aggressive and heavy. A lot of your answers are going to depend on what size they are. The quad will definately not be as smooth. You may want to consider a clutch kit depending on the size. They will grip better in the snow and mud then the swamp fox but it will ride rougher on hard packed trails.

The best thing to stick to snow is snow. A super aggresive tyre is just going to dig holes.

Pressures are another thing. Catch 22 but do you go for low psi and bags of traction or higher psi for that bit more ground clearance??

Yep, you don't want an aggressive tire if you want to go in snow. You want something with a wide, flat footprint that willo "float" on top of the snow... like snow shoes. Bighorns aired down to 2 1/2 to 3 psi works excellent. However, running such low pressures makes it easier for a bead to break loose

I had Kenda Executioners on my Kodiak 400. On my road or driveway, they were pretty rough. However, when out on the trail, they were pretty smooth. They would bite hard when trail riding and were great in mud. They were poor when crossing tree roots or smooth rocks. I did plow snow with mine without any problems. I don't think you would need a clutch kit with a 500.

On the trails mine ran smooth at mid to high speed...on road they were rough at low speed but smoothed out at higher speed...
