Default Pure Polaris windshield owners

Can anyone advise on the following questions
  • How high above the headlight is the top of either the high shield or mid shield??
  • Is the smoke effect version hard to see through??
  • Has anyone fitted mirrors direct to the shield??
Thank you

JF

If riding in cold weather get the tall it is 19.5 " above headlight if its touching, it also helps with dust in ypur eyes in the nice weather

Tall and clear for Me,smoked hinders view when night riding and tall keeps the cold arctic wind off Mine face when out icefishing.

Tall it is I think.

Every time I go out I have about two miles of road work to do at around 40mph which is begining to sting as winter approaches.

I prefer the look of the smoked but as mentioned may hinder my view. I do a fair amount of riding off track in the woods, often at dusk, so it's probably a tall clear shield.

Thanks for the input, this is a fantastic site.

All the best

I've got both for my ride. Midsize/tinted is too dark at dusk or wearing sunglasses and when riding slow, the top trim is exactly where I want to look on the trail. I use the tall/clear in winter but its downside is that wind swirls up and behind the windshield with snow (winter) & dust (summer). My vote goes to the tall/clear.

Sorry, I forgot about the mirror question. The windshield on my 400HO was perfect for mounting 2" convex mirrors on each side with adhesive tape. The 550XP windshield's angles are not condusive to a direct mount so I mounted the same type mirrors on the front cargo box.
