Default Discing ground for food plot

Wanted your experience working the soil up for food plot preparation with your atv. Planning on putting a couple in next spring, I've got 500 sportsman efi, does an atv do the job well in virgin ground or is it really hard on the machine? There are a couple places around here to rent the disc/harrow for about 150/day i think. Planning ahead.

I used a disc harrow with my kodiak 450 in virgin soil when I reseeded my lawn. It worked like a champ.

Rent a rig that will go deep into the soil, so the roots can expand and the soil will drain a litttle better. Go over it a second time and dig in lots of mulch and/or fertilizer of your choice. This will give you a good garden bed. Then go have fun on your quad!

I would say the 500 and the 800 would do great because they are heavy and have a very low low range gear.
