Default Tranny and rear diff fluid change

I am going to replace the tranny fluid and rear diff fluid on my 2000 Sportsman 500. The manual states there is a drain plug for the rear diff??? I can't find it. I also cannot find the fill hole. I found the drain for the tranny. After doing a search, It appears that the tranny and rear diff are all one unit and that they fill and drain togther through the tranny. Is this right???

Thanks,

Jim

Thats correct, tranny and rear diff are in the same case on the 500, book says to use the demand drive fluid, I use the same oil that I put in the engine which is 5-30 Castrol Syntec, the fill plug is on the otyer side of case drain on right fill on left if I remember

You would be better off with the 5w50 Castrol Syntec in the trans.
