Default Removing heated grips

I need to replace the kill switch controls on my 800. It quit working so I took it apart to check out if the contacts needed cleaned up and found the contacts are melted into the switch. I tried to fix it and put it all back together but it would only work when you pushed in on the switch. I ended up just ordering a complete housing and switches new but I will have to remove my grip to take the old one off and the new one on. Has anyone tried getting them off successfully without messing them up? I have the Hot Grips by Symtec. I havent looked yet but do they sell just the grips as replacements without having to buy the controller and everything else. Hopefully so I can save a few bucks. Thanks for the help fellars!

I was able to buy just the heat elements and I think it set me back $15 american dollars. And MAN DID THEY WORK BETTER!!! I was suprised at how much warmer they were and how much faster they warmed up

You can spray some wd-40 in them and they should slide off.
