Default Lift or new Spring/Struts

I have a 2001 Sportsman 500. I finally bought some new tires. I went with 26" BajaCross. The sales guy said they should fit without a problem. I had to put a 1 inch spacer on the front the remove rubbing from the tire and the steering rods. But now I still get rubbing when hitting bumps hard or turning and hitting bumps. I have the original Struts and springs. I am wondering if putting new ones on will help or should I go with a lift. Any input would be helpfull.

welcome to the forum. if the struts are week(yes they all do it after time) then you can put new heavier springs or a lift or maybe put spacers in. i made cheap home made ones that helped alot from bottoming out. look at the top of the forum under the sticky threads for the home made spacers to see how to do it if you like. just a thought

I also have an '01 Sportsman 500 and replaced front and rear springs with new HD EPI springs. Tremendous improvement - got rid of all of the front sag and is a much better, more spirited ride!

I think my first step will be to replace the front springs/Struts. Has anybody tried the Bronco Struts and spring.

Or should I just buy the springs and install them. Do the struts need to be replaced after awhile as mine are the originals from when I purchased the bike in 2001.

it's the springs that go bad, not the strut for the most part.
