it has 2,800 miles, was owned by a older guy who used it mostly for plowing, so i dont think it has been swimming or ran hard, it doesn't appear to smoke at all nor do i smell anything, i did an oil change about sept, used the proper synthetic oil, was were it should be there is 200 miles on since then and noticed its down below the add mark.
thanks for the responses

Maybe the guy you bought it from did not use synthic oil just reguliar oil. I have seen some motors do this use oil with synthic but not standard oil like 10w40

Thats why i had to do a quickie oil change in the bush, noticed it was low and i know not to mix reg with synthetic so i changed the oil in the bush.
Im not too familiar with 4 stroke operation(used to my sleds) when they get up there in age is it normal for them to burn some oil?

Sounds to me like the rings are a little worn. You can just keep adding oil and keep an eye on the level.

I want to thank you for keeping our county free. You keep your head down and follow your training over there ok?

Come back safe and sound and enjoy the freedom you have given us.
