Ok so as the title says im thinking of going to a Polaris snow machine engine....looking at xc 700's..or anything 2stroke and twin....I want to do this swap to maintain the cvt and gain big power. I have a seemingly simple question...will the tb trans hold the extra power or is it going to crap out? seems to me like it would. Also has anyone else done something of this nature? any help would be appreciated.

see my post on the 700 scrammy project (tossed a 680 triple into a 400 scrambler 4wd). The swap is easy, the tuning on the other hand is a bugger, but when it gets straightened out they're a blast.
couple recomendations:
Get a complete donor sled, even if it means you have to rebuild the motor, all the little pieces that come with the sled are a big plus.
wire the quad exactly like the sled and only splice the minimum to get everything working
go with a twin, the triple in mine is a tad on the heavy side
run the sled clutches
invest in lots of clutch weights and springs, you'll have it apart more times then ou can count.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
