04' polaris sportsman 600 wont start

OK, I got out the electrical meter and did some testing. Battery is at 12v, when I crank the engine over I get power out of the magneto/stator and can follow it all the way into the ignition coil. but thats where it stops, nothing coming out of the coil on either side. So, I'm guessing I will have to replace the coil. I checked with our local polaris and he said the coil was like $200, but that sure beats that $500 stator.
