3 years ago I put diesel fuel in my 400ex gas- it's been sitting since. I tried to start it yesterday and it wont- what's wrong with it?
I have no money to fix the atv that I beat on everytime I ride- so please just give me advice that would let me fix it for free.
sooo- you wet your atv a few days ago and now it's frozen stuck.... wonder what the first step should be to figure out what's wrong

Pull on the starter rope. If it doesn't move it's probably frozen. It needs to be able to move.
But I'm not sure if it's the problem or not so I probably shouldn't post this...

Water gets down the recoil rope hole and makes a large ice cube that will not allow the flywheel to turn.
Solution: wait until summer for the ice to turn back into water and drain it out the bottom drain hole, in ice form the water will never fit out the drain hole of the recoil cover.

if he wants to get the ice out quicker- he can always drill out the cover and pull the ice out

Seriously, though people should silicone the rope handle in its place, can,t believe people trust a $5 rope handle to protect a $300 stator,$300 flywheel,Bendix drive, and pulse coil from taking a swim.
If you do need the pull rope for back up the silicon seal will break loose easy enough. Hardcore mud running guys at highlifter remove the rope and JB weld the rope hole closed.
