Hawkeye engine problem... AGAIN...
Ok guys, I posted awhile back with an engine running issue on my 06 hawkeye. Turned out that I messed up and forgot to put a jet back in the carb. After I got that figured out, it ran great until my son rolled the fourwheeler into a fence and it sat on it's side for about 15 minutes.
I went up and retrieved the quad from the fence rolled it back on it's wheels and drove it a few hundred feet back to the house. It ran ok, idles fine, but on WOT it boggs down and backfires until I let off the throttle. I noticed something leaking from the middle/rear of the quad. Long story short, the crankcase was overflowing. Fuel in the oil. I suspect that was from it sitting on it's side. I took the carb off, checked the float and needle and seat. Seems to be working properly. Changed the oil and filter and put the carb back in (all I did on the carb was remove the fuel bowl. Didn't take anytthing else apart on it) and it runs the same.
Applying the choke makes no difference. removing the air filter makes no difference. I'm gonna replace the spark plug tonight but I have my doubts on what that's gonna do. It's basically running the same as my last post (I think you can search my posts, it's the only other post I have) with the exception that the choke makes no difference in the way it runs at WOT.
Hoping someone can give me a few things to check. I did check the throttle sensor and it doesn't seem to be closing so that shouldn't be affecting it. thanks guys
