Default 99 Xplorer 400 Water Pump Shaft problem

I have a 99 Xplorer 400. I had water/anti freeze mixing with the counterbalancer oil. I've torn the engine down to replace the water pump gasket, oil seal and water seal on the shaft. The water pump shaft has corroded below the bearing, the oil seal and the water seal. I've cleaned the shaft to make it smooth again. The problem now is that I am undersize on the shaft. Does anyone know if you can buy oversized shaft oil and water seals and bearing? (Oversized on the shaft) The cost of the shaft exceeds $400.......Thanks.

I have used a really good epoxy and built up and filled in grooves.Did this to a 96 400 and was holding great after 2 years.

He was probably referring to JB weld or similar product I guess. Won't hurt to try if was pretty corroded and grooved! The only other alternative is to replace the counter balancer, which ain't cheap! Last I checked I think was around 400 dollars, I think I would give repairing a shot if it was mine too! OPT

I dont use JB for this.It is a industrial epoxy that sets up harder than JB Weld.Get it at a REAL hardware store or auto parts

Thanks....Just did a complete engine rebuild and started it today for the first time. Ran well. FYI....Get a manual and ask a lot of questions. This forum helped a great deal. Thanks for all the help.

Pictures are worth a thousand words! Manual are needed if major work is to be done on any machine. Good luck with your new engine. OPT
