99 Xplorer 400 Water Pump Shaft problem
I have a 99 Xplorer 400. I had water/anti freeze mixing with the counterbalancer oil. I've torn the engine down to replace the water pump gasket, oil seal and water seal on the shaft. The water pump shaft has corroded below the bearing, the oil seal and the water seal. I've cleaned the shaft to make it smooth again. The problem now is that I am undersize on the shaft. Does anyone know if you can buy oversized shaft oil and water seals and bearing? (Oversized on the shaft) The cost of the shaft exceeds $400.......Thanks.

He was probably referring to JB weld or similar product I guess. Won't hurt to try if was pretty corroded and grooved! The only other alternative is to replace the counter balancer, which ain't cheap! Last I checked I think was around 400 dollars, I think I would give repairing a shot if it was mine too! OPT
