i put a set of 25" swamp lites on my wifes 08' 49 HO (same as the hawkeye) and the rear tires was hitting the inner fender flares which i had to trim to make it work. i think depends on the tread dept on if they will fit.

I have ACTs on my wife's SP500 and they would be a great choice but they WILL tear up your yard.

Maxxis makes a smaller Bighorn tire called the Bighorn 2.0. We have installed them on a couple of Hawkeye and 300 Sportsmans now. They are a great all around tire, and everyone loves the way bighorns look.

I was interested in the Bighorns, but they're so freaking expensive. I may be coming into more money than I thought. ACTs seem great, but if I can get some extra money together, I may go bighorn. How much do they weigh, and will I need to modify the clutch, or fender flares to get them to fit? Lastly, are they alright in mud?

DURO makes a knock-off bighorn copy. Tire is average in mud. Not light.

We have put them on stock machines without any issue. They do have a pretty heavy price tag. They aren't the greatest in mud, but a lot of people think that the more mud aggressive the tire the better it preforms everywhere. These real mud aggressive thick ply bar lug tires that everyone sells, don't preform as well as a 489 or an all around tire on Rocks, logs, or hardpack which is what most people typically ride on. I ride in the mountains of KY where it's mostly rock and even the mud has rocks underneath. The giant bar lug style mud tires are more geared towards swamps and bottomless mud like in FL or MS. ~Phil

I'm not a big mud rider, since I'm in New York, but I hate getting stuck. So really the Bighorns would be great. I've heard only bad things about the Duro knockoff.

Hmm, I guess since I don't need a clutch kit for 25 inch tires, it really opens up my options. Thanks for the input guys!
