is there any way you can duplicate the situation? like, up on blocks and use a ratchet strap to compress the front end? do you reckon that'll simulate the downhill experience? and maybe help you troubleshoot it from the ground beside it rather than on top riding?

I did set the brake and get off to inspect on a steep hill and found nothing when it starting the grinding noise. Everything looked fine. And I don't think it's my brakes. I never touched the brakes on the times it was grinding and they've never uttered a sound other than the occasional squeak in over a 1000 miles. Thanks for all the replies but this one will probably be one of those things I'll have to figure out with time since it has done it with no rhyme or reason. We'll see next time out If I accidentally fixed it. fingers crossed.

Not sure? As stated before I went through every moving part and scratching my head. Everything runs great on flat and moderate hills but I'll find out soon enough. I just got done loading up for a 3 day trip to haspin acres this coming weekend where there will be plenty of rough terrain to test it out on. Wish I had time to do some thorough testing pre-trip but haven't been getting home till late most nights now that construction is in full go mode. Fingers crossed!
