Default 09 850xp PVT engagement & rpm

Can any of you new xp850 owners tell me when your pvt kicks in (rpm)

Mine is engaging around 1800-1900 rpm- seems kinda high to me.
Same in reverse- thing jumps off the line- wondering if that was normal.

The cvt on my 800x renegade kicked in about 1300-1400.

If its any help, my 09 550xp engages @ 2350 rpm. And its quite firm and jerks. Too high in my opinion.

hmm - that seem real high- but I guess it's normal. They are pretty "jerky" atv's- if I ease real slowly it kicks in smoothly.

hey moose- what's your 550xp kicking in at?

Mine engages the same 1800-1900, I think it is high also mine is the same way. When I first got the machine it took a while to get used to. My old 700efi crawled so smooth.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Clutching is one of the things Polaris did to get the performance up.If you dont like the engagement try going with heavier weights. But you will loose topend

Thanks, I may try that- for me, any speed over 45 is pointless...

It really pays off when you're rock climbing on real technical trails.
