Took the sportsman out for a lil mud ridin, been a while since we've done any good all day ridin so i knew she'd be rusty, runs like a champ for me, but we were goin down the road, hit full throttle for a lil bit, and she backfired like a cannon 2 or 3 times, everything felt ok though, ran her normal at 1/2 throttle, hit another long stretch for doin over like 45mph and she cut out on me, didnt want to take any throttle and slowed right down, finally she took some gas and kept goin, i figured maybe the carb is just gunked or somethin from sittin for a while, so ran her 1/2 throttle and fine, jumped back up to over 45mph and cut out again, this time stalling out completely, ran all day after that in the woods no problem, everything felt great and sounded normal, back on the road to get home and she did not want to go fast at all, i kept her under 45 so not to stall again. Anyone have any idea's on what that could be??

 

The first thing did it get the ECM recall done? Polaris Expands ATV Recall

When that brain box acts up all kind of strange things can happen. After that try a good carb cleaning.

 

yep got the recall done, just struck me weird that it only does it on the road when its on a steady throttle over 45mph

 

i would check the carb for main jet or fuel circuit partly plugged. may be running so lean it cut right out.
