Default 2000 sportsman 500 speedo problem

Out trail riding and speedo started jumping all over and spun all the way around past 60 and digital read out. Found battery took a dump, Put in new battery everythings fine except speedo needle is stuck on the wrong side of pin(the one you push to toggle thru display) is there anyway to get needle back around ??? Tried pulling pin out no go, speedo still accumulates miles and everything else seems to work.

don't know how you would do it w/ out actually taking the glass off and doing it by hand? if you did this, you would to make sure it was sealed back so water does not get in.

Thanks stendori, I'll see if I can destroy the speedo by getting glass off.

Just an update got bezel off speedo by carefully bending edges straight.Spun needle back to zero then put bezel back on and bent edges back best I could then put some silicone around bezel. Good news the speedo works but just have to wait to see if it has any leaks.
