Default 400 xplorer burned to the ground.

My son was riding his 400 xplorer he had for about two weeks. I think a limb must have severed the fuel line. He ran to the house ( about 200 yards ) and by the time we got to it with extinguishers, it was fully engulfed.
Poor kid.
I didn't insure it because I only had 2500 in it and wasn't worried about theft where I live.
I have road for about 20 years and NEVER heard of this happening.
What a 4th of July..........

THAT SUCKS!!! Like everybody else said tires, wires, and plastics are easy and cheap to replace compared to your son for sure! I've heard of a few auto's doing that, and from no warning most of the time. Just glad to hear no one was hurt in the process.

I've had harnesses melted along with control modules and bits and pieces of plastic burnt, even had puddles of gas on frames and dripping on the exhaust from leaking tank lines, but never a total crispy critter! Freaky accident! Still like already mentioned a son can't be replaced, the four wheeler can! OPT

I have pics with it in 25 feet flames and after pics. I will try to figure out how to upload to this sight later tonight. It got so hot the handlebars just lifted right off and the rear wheels were no longer attached. Melted the rear hubs! The frame, engine, and exhaust were all that were left. Many piles of melted aluminum on the ground. A total loss.........

We are glad he wasn't hurt. There is no replacing anything. A total loss.....
