How many mileas is too many?? (07 Sporty 450.)

Hey All,
Been trying to save for a new one, but things have not been going my way
, so used may be the choice for me, nothing wrong there though.
How many miles is too many?? I have come across a pair of 2007 Sportsman 450, with between 4-5000 miles on them. They appear to be well taken care of, and the owner claims they are tip top, and well maintained.
These should be centralized Hillyards, correct?? What else should I look for??

You look for it, I would look for it to avoid it.

I found a 2004.5, just traded in, 3300 miles on it. The MF/Polaris dealer that has it, was the original seller, and they do know the history of it.

i found a couple 05's( same look as 07 right??) in the states for around 3 grand with 800 miles. try using searchtempest to search cragslist in nearby border ares . 5000 miles can be a tad high. id go no higher than 2or 3 k. i was gonna get 05 450 or 500 for 3 grand till i found a 04 600 with 2 sets of tires winch, boxes and plow for 2800.
even with only 2k miles i had to do ball joints, tie rods u-joints and wheel bearings. so around 300 in parts. but higher miles could need more than just consumable parts, like clutch sheaves transmissions and cv joints. just my 2 cents before i got a 450 i just as soon get a 500 for the low range and reliability. 500 carb came out in late 90's and is still available as 2012 model and can be had for 5000$ brand new.

06' was the first year for the sportsman 450 which is basicly the same as the 500. milage really depends on how it was ridden, serviced and all around maintance. if the price is low enough then if all esle is good then maybe it would be fine. the 3 things i mentioned is the most important things to know about any wheeler when buying a used one as well as how it looks.
