Default Polaris sportsman 700twin 2003

Hello,Vehicle is polaris sportsman 700 twin year 2003.
Atv work well, when I dont touch throttle, but when I push little more thorttle and engine is taking more tours, engine die out and blow air and gas from air intake.

I have checked now carburetor and tried second carburetor, gas pum is ok,air filter is new,air box is ok,gas filter ok,valves ok,automatic control valves ok,engine cover was kinked,0,2mm alumine went away and cover is ok,sylinder group gave 0,1mm and ok,new head gasket and sylinder down gasket, now engine is ok, second cdi have tested, second speedometer, second left hand circuit breaker tested.
I have really looked at all the places on that s****t ,but not stator. I must yet measure stator.
Fuel tank is clean, all pipes are new.

Handbook says

capasitor charge coil. brn to y 5,4min / 7,3max

trigger coil . blk to r= 360 min / 410 max
blk to =round no connection
battery charge coil. y to y/r = 0,15min/0,29max
y to ground =no connection
ignition coil. without caps= 1800min 2400 max
with caps 12000

front wheel drive coil. gry to brn/W= 24 ohms
gry to ground= no connection

This topic is very confused because I speak naturally finnish .
Maybe there is someone who own just like that atv and have same problem, write here how did u get that work ,please.

Welcome to the forum! Just replace the ignition system with part# 2202602! This a COMPLETE ignition change from Ducati electrics to Kokusan. Kit has the stator, flywheel, new cdi, coil, regulator and instructions. Years affected were from 2002 to early 2004 with the Ducati system! Cost is about $475. I replaced several of these. OPT

Thank you very much, I measured the stator ohms, there few ohms was wrong.
1.capasitor charge coil , brown to yellow,=005, that should be 5,4-7,3
2.trigger coil, black to red =383 (ok)
black to ground= no connection (ok)
3.yellow to yellow/red =nothing (should be 0,15-0,20
yellow to ground =0,05(should be no connection)

I think stator is broken, I found that kit what you told here .
There cost 421$ (POLARIS OEM 2202602)

What do you think,is that good place to buy stuff?

$421 is a good price. Make sure you buy the COMPLETE kit and not just the replacement stator!! Kit will include everything as mentioned above! Good luck OPT

Hello again, thank you very much, this help me very much.
I posted to rms stator,I asked what that 2202602 (421$) include, they said, that only include stator and the pickup coil.

Could you tell me where can I buy that upgrade kit 2202602 what include that all what old polaris tech said? Please.

Order through a Polaris dealer then!!! Kit #2202602 includes the stator, flywheel, cdi, coil, regulator and instructions! RMS web site shows the stator to be only $199, BUT you have to have the COMPLETE change out kit,NOT just the stator. I think the person you talked to was wrong! At CYCLE PARTS WAREHOUSE the kit is $475. OPT

old polaris tech,

I'm having a no spark issue with my 03 700 twin. I pulled the plug wire off and the conn. stayed on the plug. So i bought new wires , put them on still no spark. It ran fine one day the next , no spark! Am i really just better off changing he whole ignition from dukati to kukusan ? Thanks

You have to change now to Kokusan. Even though on some sites the combo cdi/coil pack still shows up,it along with the Ducati stator isn't available! All update to the #2202602 Kokusan kit. DON'T buy any used Ducati parts on Craigslist or Ebay that people may be trying to pawn off. This is what happens on the Ducati systems, they might run fine, then kill it and it may not crank back up. Some would just start back firing, hard to start, idle problems, charging problems, etc until they finally quit running. OPT
